Cia. Albertina Shuts Down Brazil Sugar-Cane Plant, Estado says

Cia. Albertina, a Brazilian sugar- cane processor that’s been in bankruptcy protection since 2008, shut its mill in the southeastern city of Sertaozinho, O Estado de Sao Paulo reported.

Albertina fired 600 of the plant’s workforce, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper said today on its website, citing Marcelo Milliet, a manager.
