China Southern Airlines Jumps on Partnership With Expedia

China Southern Airlines Co. (ZNH), Asia’s biggest carrier by passenger numbers, rose the most in four weeks in U.S. trading after entering a partnership with Expedia Inc. to offer tickets through the online travel agency.

American depositary receipts of China Southern jumped 4.5 percent to $26.94 by 10:055 a.m. in New York, the most since Jan. 10. Each ADR represents 50 common shares in the company.

Expedia, based in Bellevue, Washington, will offer China Southern fares and inventory on its websites in North America, Europe and Asia, it said today in a statement issued by PR Newswire.

The offerings will be also available on discount travel site Hotwire Inc. and on China’s Elong Inc., whose biggest shareholder is Expedia, the company said in the statement.
