The Free Democratic Party, the coalition partner of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats, has abandoned a call for tax cuts, Die Welt reported, citing a policy statement.
The statement refers to avoiding tax increases, the newspaper said, adding that emphasis is placed on growth and spending discipline.
