Egypt’s benchmark EGX30 Index (EGX30) fell for the first time in six days, losing 0.1 percent to 4,530.73 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo.

Raya Holding Co. (RAYA) increased 3.8 percent to 4.13 Egyptian pounds, the highest close in more than two months. The board of the information technology company approved starting a subsidiary to provide data-center services.
Telecom Egypt (ETEL) fell for a second day, declining 1.1 percent to 15.04 pounds. The country’s monopoly fixed-line phone company said its shareholders approved paying a 30 piaster dividend for 2011. The company paid a dividend of 1.3 pounds a share last year, according to Bloomberg data.
