Hornets Break Nine-Game Losing Streak With 93-67 Win Over Magic

Reserve Carl Landry scored 17 points to help the New Orleans Hornets break their nine-game losing streak with a 93-67 victory over the Orlando Magic in a National Basketball Association contest.

Marco Belinelli had 15 points and Jason Smith scored 14 for the Hornets on their home court at New Orleans Arena.

Dwight Howard had 28 points and 16 rebounds for his 15th double-double of the season for the Magic, who turned over the ball 23 times while shooting 39 percent from the floor.

The Hornets (4-15) are last in the Western Conference’s five-team Southwest Division, 7 ½ games behind the leading San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. Orlando (12-7) is in third place in the Eastern Conference’s five-team Southeast Division, two games behind the Miami Heat.
