South African Corn Stocks Fell 45% in December

South Africa’s corn stockpiles fell 45 percent to 3.33 million metric tons by the end of December from a year earlier, according to the South African Grain Information Service.
The country had 2.24 million tons of white corn and 1.09 million tons of yellow corn, the agency said on its website today. White corn is used to make South Africa’s staple food while yellow corn is mainly used as animal feed.
Wheat stocks rose 35 percent to 1.80 million tons.
