Argentine Shale Resources May Exceed U.S. EIA Estimates

Argentina’s shale resources may exceed the 774 trillion cubic feet estimated by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, said Guimar Vaca Coca, managing director of Americas Petrogas, at an interview today in Buenos Aires. He didn’t specify how much more the resources may be. Americas Petrogas and Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) may invest between $1 billion and $2 billion in shale over a five-year period, he said.
