Chilean Stocks: Falabella Falls; Sigdo Koppers and Sonda Gain

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa (IPSA) index fell 0.1 percent to 4,243.44. The MSCI Chile (MXCL) index retreated 1 percent to 2,411.05.

SACI Falabella (FALAB) retreated 0.3 percent to 4,213.1 pesos. The retailer pledged it would reduce imports for its Argentinean stores, Clarin reported yesterday.

Sigdo Koppers SA (SK) (SK CC) rose 0.9 percent to 930 pesos. The Chilean industrial holding company acquired a stake in mining services firm Godelius, the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Sonda SA (SONDA) rose 0.2 percent to 1,292 pesos, its second day of gains. Chile’s largest information technology and software services company reported a 21 percent increase in annual profit to 40.6 billion pesos ($82 million). The brokerage units of Banco de Chile and Banco de Credito & Inversiones said the results were above expectations.
