Gulf States to Lower Roaming Charges by 50% as of Feb., SPA Says

Gulf Cooperation Council countries will lower charges for mobile roaming calls by more than 50 percent as of Feb. 1, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Shubaily.

Mobile telephone operators agreed in a meeting held in Riyadh earlier this month to abide by retail prices for roaming calls within the six-nation group the news service added, citing al-Shubaily. The GCC includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
