Workers at Zimbabwe Platinum Ltd.’s Ngezi mine went on strike demanding the company pay their household electricity bills, state-controlled Sunday Mail reported, citing Busi Chindove, the company’s head of corporate affairs.
Calls to the company known as Zimplats (ZIM) in Harare weren’t answered today. Zimbabwe has the world’s second-largest platinum deposits after neighboring South Africa. Zimplats is 87 percent owned by Johannesburg-based Impala Platinum Ltd. (IMP)
