Switzerland’s Didier Cuche won the men’s World Cup downhill in Kitzbuehl, Austria, two days after announcing he would retire from skiing at the end of the season.
Cuche, 37, finished in 1 minute, 13.28 seconds for his 19th career World Cup victory and his record fifth win on the Streif course. Austria’s Romed Baumann was second, with countryman Klaus Kroell third.
France’s Tessa Worley won the women’s downhill in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, after first-run leader Elisabeth Goergl of Austria crashed on her second run.
Worley finished in 2:03.02 ahead Italy’s Federica Brignone and Germany’s Viktoria Rebensburg third. Lindsay Vonn of the U.S., the overall World Cup points leader, was fourth.
