Cia. Sud Americana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC) rose 1.8 percent to 104.45 pesos, ending a six-day losing streak. Latin America’s largest container shipping company raised $659 million in the first stage of a $1.2 billion capital increase. CSAV sold shares in a rights offering at 20.45 cents each, according to a statement posted on the company’s website.
Empresas La Polar SA (LAPOLAR) , the department-store operator under bankruptcy protection, fell 2.1 percent to 230 pesos. Chilean brokerages cut their proprietary holdings in the stock, Diario Financiero reported today. The company also denied having asked creditors for changes to its debt restructuring agreement, according to a statement posted by the Santiago stock exchange.
