Thailand Stocks: PTT Exploration, Precious Shipping, Thoresen

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.

The SET Index (SET) fell for a second day, declining 0.8 percent to 1,037.01, a one-week low.

Shipping companies: Precious Shipping Pcl (PSL) , the nation’s biggest dry-bulk shipping company by market value, dropped 3 percent to 16.2 baht, the largest decrease since Oct. 18. Thoresen Thai Agencies Pcl (TTA) lost 1.4 percent 20.6 baht.

The Baltic Dry Index, a measure of shipping costs for dry- bulk commodities, slid 4.7 percent to 1,053 on Jan. 13, the lowest level since Feb. 7, according to the Baltic Exchange in London.

PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP TB), Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, declined 2.3 percent to 170.5 baht, the most since Dec. 15. Oil futures in New York fell 0.4 percent to $98.70 on Jan. 13, the lowest close since Dec. 21.
