Peru Stocks: Buenaventura, Minsur, Rio Alto, Southern Copper
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 12:43 p.m. Lima time.
The Lima General Index (IGBVL) fell for the first time this week, dropping 0.5 percent to 20,444.76. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index (MXPECAPD) slid 0.7 percent to 2,627.26.
Mining stocks declined as metals slumped in New York and London, Jose Luis Bustamante, head of trading at Cartisa SAB, said in a telephone interview.
Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a gold producer, fell 3 percent to $3.62. Minsur SA (MINSURI1) (MINSURI1 PE), the world’s fourth- largest tin producer, dropped 1.8 percent to 2.78 soles. Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious- metals miner, slid 1.5 percent to $40. Southern Copper Corp. (PCU\C) (SCCO PE), the country’s biggest producer of the metal, declined 1.5 percent to $32.80. Sociedad Minera El Brocal SAA (SMBC) (BROCALC1 PE), a copper and zinc producer, fell 1 percent to 48.50 soles.
