Argentine Stocks: Banco Hipotecario, BBVA Banco Frances, Tenaris

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 2:10 p.m. in Buenos Aires.

The Merval (MERVAL) Index fell 2 percent to 2,763.79.

Financial company shares declined in line with U.S. banks as euro-region governments braced for possible credit downgrades by Standard & Poor’s and as JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s profit slumped 23 percent.

Banco Hipotecario SA (BHIP) (BHIP AF) dropped 4 percent to 1.68 pesos. BBVA Banco Frances SA (FRAN) (FRAN AF) retreated 2.9 percent to 9.52 pesos.

Tenaris SA (TS) (TS AF) fell 4.3 percent to 90.65 pesos. The world’s largest producer of seamless steel tubes used in the oil industry declined in line with the price of crude in New York.
