Turkish Stocks: Gunes Sigorta, Sekerbank, Yapi Kredi Were Active

Gunes Sigorta (GUSGR) AS, an insurer, gained 2.2 percent to 1.86 liras, its highest since Dec. 21, after it signed an agreement to provide coverage to Turk Hava Yollari (THYAO) AO, or Turkish Airlines, for four years. The contract covers nearly 200 planes, an average 2.7 million passengers per month and 16,000 employees, Turkish Airlines said in a statement today.
Sekerbank TAS (SKBNK) , a Turkish bank, jumped 6.8 percent to 94 kurus after BTA Bank JSC (BTAS) of Kazakhstan said it expects to complete an agreement “very soon” to sell its 34 percent stake for $166 million to Kazakhstan’s national wealth fund Samruk-Kazyna, according to a presentation on the BTA website.
Yapi & Kredi Bankasi AS (YKBNK TI), the bank owned by Koc Holding AS and UniCredit SpA, added 2.6 percent to 2.75 liras, gaining for a third day. UniCredit added 12 percent in Italian trading today, paring its losses this year to 32 percent.
