Russia’s Bashneft May Join Iraq Oil Exploration Group, IFX Says

Russia’s OAO Bashneft, controlled by billionaire Vladimir Evtushenkov’s AFK Sistema, is in talks to form a consortium to develop Iraqi oil fields, Interfax reported, citing the company’s president, Alexander Korsik.
The Russian company wants to be a junior partner in a consortium that will bid in the next round of tenders for Iraqi oil fields, Interfax reported, citing an interview with Korsik.
