Microsoft Says It Has Sold 66 Million Xbox 360 Gaming Consoles

Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Shaw Wu, analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc., talks about the outlook for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) said it has sold 66 million Xbox 360 gaming consoles and 18 million of the related Kinect devices that let users play games using body motion.

The company released the cumulative figures during a video presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, ahead of a keynote speech by Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer.

As of a year ago, Microsoft had sold more than 50 million Xbox 360 consoles, and 8 million Kinect devices.
