Dell Unveils Its First Ultrabook Notebook, Taking on MacBook Air

Dell Inc. (DELL) is unveiling its first ultrabook-style laptop at the Consumer Electronics Show today, challenging Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s MacBook Air in the burgeoning market for thin, light computers.
Dell’s XPS 13 is less than 3 pounds and starts at $999, the company said today. The ultrabook standard is backed by Intel Corp., which supplies chips for the devices.
