Opap of Greece Gets Longer Period to Install VLTs, Imerisia Says

Opap SA (OPAP) will have twelve months from the date of planned new gaming regulations to install 16,500 video lottery terminals, Imerisia said.

Opap plans to have the first video gaming halls in operation within the first three months of 2012, the Athens- based newspaper reported, without citing anyone.

Opap has held talks with Austria’s Novomatic AG, Athens- based Intralot SA, Italy’s Spielo, Germany’s Gauselmann Group and Inspired Gaming Group Plc on the 18,500 video lottery terminals it has to subcontract, Imerisia said. Legislation to regulate the gaming market granted Opap a total of 35,000 licenses, of which 18,500 have to be subcontracted.
