Chilean Stocks: Cervecerias, Concha & Toro and Endesa Advance

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa (IPSA) index rose 0.1 percent to 4,205.19. The MSCI Chile (MXCL) index retreated 0.5 percent to 2,300.35.

Cia. Cervecerias Unidas SA (CCU) (CCU CC) advanced 1.2 percent to 6,422.6 pesos. Chile’s largest brewer reported a 10 percent increase in fourth-quarter sales volume from a year ago. Volume rose 6.4 percent on a full-year basis, the company wrote in a statement posted on its website.

Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA (ENDESA) (ENDESA CC) rose 1 percent to 776.53 pesos. Chile’s largest power generator was named at Banco Santander SA as one of its favorite Chilean stocks.

Vina Concha & Toro SA (CONCHA) (CONCHA CC) gained 2.1 percent to 1,030 pesos, the biggest increase in more than two weeks. Chile’s largest wine exporter posted consolidated preliminary sales of 123 billion pesos in the fourth quarter, up 26 percent from a year earlier.
