Eli Carter scored 19 points to lead Rutgers University to a 67-60 victory over eighth-ranked University of Connecticut in college basketball.
Myles Mack came off the bench to score 14 points for the Scarlett Knights, who shot 40 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the free-throw line at Louis Brown Athletic Center in Piscataway, New Jersey. They also hit seven of 18 3-pointers.
Shabazz Napier led the Huskies with 23 points and Andre Drummond added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Connecticut connected on 39 percent of its field goal attempts and 73 percent from the foul line.
Rutgers improved to 9-7 overall and 1-2 in the Big East. Connecticut, which lost its second straight game, fell to 12-3 and 2-2 in the Big East.
