Elizabeth Williams Has Triple-Double as Duke Beats Wake Forest 76-58

Elizabeth Williams had 18 points, 16 rebounds and 12 blocks for a triple-double to lead sixth-ranked Duke University to a 76-58 win over Wake Forest University in women’s college basketball.

Williams set an Atlantic Coast Conference record for blocks, which had been held by Duke’s Sarah Sullivan for 29 years.

The Blue Devils connected on 47 percent of their shots from the field and 76 percent from the free-throw line and held the Demon Deacons to 29 percent from the floor and 39 percent from the foul line.

Haley Peters scored 12 points and Richa Jackson added 11 for the Blue Devils last night at Laurence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Duke improved to 11-2 and 2-0 in the ACC.

Lakevia Boykin scored 25 points for the Demon Deacons, who fell to 10-4 and 0-1 in the ACC.
