Peru Stocks: Atacocha, Candente, Ferreyros, Minera IRL, Rio Alto
The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:10 p.m. local time.
The Lima General Index (IGBVL) gained 0.3 percent to 19,940.09. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index (MXPECAPD) rose 0.1 percent to 2,572.26.
Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a Canadian gold miner, rose 7.2 percent to $3.41, a four-week high, after announcing it produced 51,398 ounces of gold during its first full year of operation.
Ferreyros SA (FERREYC1) (FERREYC1 PE), the Lima-based distributor for Caterpillar Inc., climbed 1.7 percent to 2.34 soles after announcing sales jumped 40 percent to $1.4 billion last year.
Miners slumped after metals dropped in New York and London, said Eduardo Fernandini, a trader at Lima-based brokerage Kallpa Securities SAB.
Minera IRL Ltd. (MIRL) , a U.K. minerals explorer with a gold mine in Peru, dropped 5.6 percent to $1.02. Cia. Minera Atacocha SA (CMA\B) (ATACOBC1 PE), the Lima-based zinc mining company, fell 2.5 percent to 79 centimos. Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian exploration company, declined 2 percent to 96 cents.
