South Korea’s Lee Says New Era in Relations Can Be Opened If North Sincere

South Korean President Lee Myung Bak said a new era in inter-Korean relations can be opened if North Korea begins behaving sincerely. Lee, speaking in a New Year address broadcast live in South Korea, said his government will strive for peace on the divided Korean peninsula, while it will respond strongly to any provocation from the North.
