Faiveley Wins Siemens, Bombardier Order for Train Equipment

Faiveley Transport (LEY), a French maker of train equipment, said it won a contract from Siemens AG (SIE) and Bombardier Inc. (BBD/B) to supply air-conditioning systems for trains to be built for Deutsche Bahn AG.

The company will provide systems for 130 trains, with an option to supply another 90 and a further 80 trains, it said in an e-mailed statement today. The first prototype will be delivered in 2014, with serial production planned from 2015 to 2023, Faiveley said.

The value of the contract, together with two earlier ones for braking systems and access doors, is more than 210 million euros, the company said.
