Deere Says Not Planning to Sell Finnish Plant, Kauppalehti Says

Deere & Co. (DE), the world’s largest farm-equipment maker, said it isn’t planning to sell a forestry gear plant in Joensuu, Finland, the Finnish business daily Kauppalehti reported.

“Deere plans to keep and further strengthen its leading position in logging equipment,” company spokesman Ken Golden said, according to Kauppalehti. He rebutted speculation about the unit after Deere said it was focusing on agriculture and construction, the newspaper said.
