Former Philadelphia Flyers Defeat Rangers Alumni 3-1 in NHL Winter Classic
Philadelphia Flyers alumni defeated a team of former New York Rangers players 3-1 as a warm-up to the National Hockey League’s outdoor 2012 Winter Classic.
John LeClair, Shjon Podein and Mark Howe each scored yesterday for the Flyers, while Glen Anderson got the only goal for the Rangers on an ice rink set up at Citizens Bank Park, the home of Major League Baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies.
Eric Lindros, Bobby Clarke and Bernie Parent were among the former Flyers who skated yesterday. Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Adam Graves and Stephane Matteau joined alumni from the Rangers.
The NHL’s Flyers and Rangers clash in the Winter Classic tomorrow at 1 p.m.
