Brazilian Stock Movers: Industrias Romi, Petrobras, Tecnisa

The following companies are having unusual (IBOV) price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11:13 a.m. local time. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.

The Bovespa index rose 0.6 percent to 57,688.46.

Industrias Romi SA (ROMI3 BS) gained 4.5 percent to 6 reais. The Brazilian machinery manufacturer paid 20.5 million euros ($26.8 million) for Burkhardt + Weber Fertigungssysteme GmbH, a German manufacturer of machine tools, according to a regulatory filing.

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PETR4 BS) rose 0.8 percent to 22.33 reais as crude futures climbed 0.3 percent in New York. Brazil’s state-controlled oil company found traces of oil and natural gas in two onshore wells in the country’s Solimoes Basin, according to a posting on the website of the National Petroleum Agency. The discoveries haven’t yet been declared commercially viable.

Tecnisa SA (TCSA3 BS) rose 4.2 percent to 10.43 reais. The Brazilian real-estate firm said it sold a 6.35 percent stake in Windsor Investimentos Imobiliarios Ltda. to BV Empreendimentos & Participacoes SA for 50 million reais ($27 million).
