Merkel Seeks EU Aid Boost to Help Europe’s Economy, Spiegel Says

Germany and other European Union countries are in talks about increasing development loans and revamping EU aid programs to boost the region’s economic growth, Der Spiegel reported, without saying how it got the information.
The EU can draw on more than 300 billion euros ($390 billion) of the so-called structural and cohesion funds over seven years, the Hamburg-based weekly magazine said today in an advance copy of an article to appear in its next edition.
