Canal Plus May Sell Direct Star After Purchase, La Tribune Says

Vivendi SA (VIV)’s Canal Plus may sell Direct Star to meet competition rules after acquiring the television channel from the Bollore (BOL) Groupe, La Tribune reported, without saying where it got the information.

Canal Plus would have one too many digital terrestrial television channels after buying Direct Star and Direct 8, the French newspaper said. Canal Plus may give back a frequency or sell one of Planete or TPS Star television channels instead, according to La Tribune.
