Russia’s Sugar Output From Beets Rose 63%, Producers’ Union Says

Russia’s sugar output from domestically grown beets rose 63 percent to 4.4 million metric tons as of Dec. 19 compared with a year earlier, the country’s Sugar Producers’ Union said.

Sugar factories refined 33.7 million tons of beets to produce the sweetener, up from 19.8 million tons of beets a year earlier, the union said today on its website.
