De Beers’s $295 Million Antitrust Settlement Affirmed by Court

The U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed approval of a settlement by De Beers of a class action lawsuit through a payment of $295 million to U.S. jewelry makers, retailers and consumers who made purchases from 1994.

The judgment was made yesterday in the third circuit, according to a Dec. 20 entry on the court’s docket.

The case is Arrigotti Fine Jewelry v. De Beers SA, 08- 02881, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.
