BP Wins Presalt Oil Block 24 in Angola, Statoil Wins Block 22

BP Plc (BP/) won a 50 percent stake and the right to operate the presalt block 24 in Angola, said Manuel Vicente, chairman of state-owned oil company Sonangol.

Statoil ASA (STL) will operate block 22 and Total SA (FP) was awarded block 25, where it will partner with BP, Statoil and Sonangol P&P, Vicente told reporters today in Luanda, the capital. Sonangol will hold the other 50 percent stake in block 24, he said.
