Medvedev Won’t Join United Russia While President, Interfax Says

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev won’t officially join any political party while he is still in office, Interfax reported, citing his press secretary Natalya Timakova.

Medvedev, who lead United Russia’s list in a parliamentary vote Dec. 4, said today that the party’s legislative candidates and leadership should all be members. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, United Russia’s chairman, is also not a member.
