Ugandan Minister Resigns After Allegations of Abuse of Office
Uganda’s minister for the presidency, Kabakumba Masiko, said she resigned after being accused of using a transmitter from the state broadcaster to run her own radio station.
The decision may help ease divisions in the ruling party after some of its lawmakers threatened to censure her, Masiko said by phone today from the capital, Kampala. Police are investigating the allegations, she said.
