Portuguese Consumer Prices Increased at Slower Pace Last Month

Portugal’s consumer price index rose in November from a year earlier at a slower pace than recorded in October.

Consumer prices, using a harmonized European Union measure, climbed 3.8 percent from a year earlier, less than the 4 percent increase in October, the Lisbon-based National Statistics Institute said today in an e-mailed statement. Prices fell 0.1 percent from October.

Using the statistics institute’s own methods, consumer prices in Portugal rose 4 percent in November from a year earlier and declined 0.1 percent from October.
