Polysilicon Falls 8.4% on Week to $29.10, PV Insights Says

The price of polysilicon, the main raw material in solar panels, fell 8.4 percent in the past week to $29.10 per kilo, PV Insights said.

Slices of multicrystalline polysilicon, known as solar wafers, were 0.6 percent lower at $1.13 per 6-inch unit and solar cells fell by the same amount to 50 U.S. cents per watt.

Finished polysilicon-based solar panels cost 1.6 percent less at 96 cents per watt, the researcher said on its website.
