Iberdrola Begins Building First Wind Farm in Asturias, Spain

Iberdrola SA (IBE), the world’s biggest producer of renewable energy, began building its first wind farm in Asturias, Northern Spain, the company said in an e-mailed press release today.
The park will have 38 megawatts of capacity and is due to enter service next year. Iberdrola has 160 megawatts of generators planned for the region.
The project, between the towns of Castropol and Boal, will deploy 19 G-80 generators built by Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA.
