MBDA Acquires Northrop Grumman Missile Unit, Les Echos Says

MBDA, the world’s second-largest missile maker, is acquiring the Viper Strike missile production unit of U.S. defense group Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC), Les Echos reported, citing MBDA Chief Executive Antoine Bouvier.

MBDA, based in Valenton, France, is buying a Northrop facility in Alabama that produces the air-to-surface missile, the newspaper said. The French company, which previously has supplied missile parts to the U.S. military, “now will be a complete missile producer in the U.S.,” Bouvier told the newspaper in an interview.
