Lakers End Talks on Acquiring Paul to Pursue Howard Instead, ESPN Reports

The Los Angeles Lakers withdrew from trade talks regarding New Orleans Hornets All-Star point guard Chris Paul and instead will target Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, ESPN reported, citing people familiar with the situation.

The Lakers will also send forward Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks for a National Basketball Association first-round draft pick, the people told ESPN.
