Obama to Make Statement on Cordray at the White House at 11:30

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) --President Barack Obama will make a statement on the Senate’s failure to confirm Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Board at 11:30 a.m., the White House said.

Republicans in the Senate blocked the confirmation today. The vote, on a motion to end debate, was 53 in favor and 45 opposed, with 60 votes needed to move the nomination ahead.
