Putin’s Party Gets 238 of 450 Seats in Lower House of Parliament

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party will get 238 seats out of 450 in the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, Vladimir Churov, chairman of the Central Election Commission, said in comments broadcast on state television today.

United Russia won 49.5 percent in yesterday’s election with 96 percent of the vote counted, Churov said in comments broadcast on state television today.
