MTR Corp. Plans to Bid for U.K. Rail Franchises, Times Says

MTR Corp. (66), which operates Hong Kong’s metro system, is preparing to bid for the C2C Essex Thameside and Thameslink railway franchises, the Sunday Times reported, without saying where it got the information.

National Express Group Plc (NEX), which runs C2C, will likely make a bid to keep the franchise, the newspaper said. Thameslink is run by FirstGroup Plc (FGP), the Sunday Times said.
