The following companies are having unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 1:42 p.m. in Buenos Aires.
The Merval (MERVAL) Index rose 0.8 percent to 2,630.58.
Aluar Aluminio Argentino SAIC (ALUA) rose 2.1 percent to 3.42 pesos, its third day of gains. The country’s largest aluminum producer gained in line with the price of the base metal in London.
Banco Macro SA (BMA) gained 2.7 percent to 9.75 pesos. Argentina’s largest lender by market share rose amid gains in global stock markets following an unexpected drop in the U.S. unemployment rate.
Banco Santander Rio SA (BRIO) advanced 2.1 percent to 7.15 pesos. The unit of Spain’s Banco Santander SA rose in line with the price of its controller in Madrid.
