Japanese Sold Net 101.4 Billion Yen Overseas Debt Last Week

Japanese investors were net sellers of foreign bonds during the week ended Nov. 25 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.

Japanese investors sold 101.4 billion yen ($1.3 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, bought 13.7 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 12.6 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net sale of 100.4 billion yen.

Foreign investors sold 259.1 billion yen in Japanese bonds, sold 134.8 billion yen in stocks, and sold 1163.7 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net sale 1557.6 billion yen.
