Peru Stocks: Candente Copper, Ferreyros, Maple, Relapasa, Volcan

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 1:18 p.m. Lima time.

The Lima General Index (IGBVL) rose 1.3 percent to 19,198.11. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index gained 1.2 percent to 2,473.90.

Industrial and energy shares rebounded as U.S. stocks and commodities advanced, said Daniel Romero, an analyst at Lima- based investment fund NC&F Inversiones SA.

Maple Energy Plc (MPLE) , the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, rose 2.9 percent to $1.06 after crude gained in New York. Ferreyros SA (FERREYC1) (FERREYC1 PE), the Lima-based distributor for Caterpillar Inc., climbed 2.6 percent to 2.33 soles. Refineria la Pampilla SA (RELAPAC1) (RELAPAC1 PE), a unit of Spain’s Repsol YPF SA known as Relapasa, gained 2.5 percent to 82 centimos. Cementos Pacasmayo SAA (CPACASI1) (CPACASC1 PE), the Hochschild Group’s cement producer, rose 2.2 percent to 4.60 soles.

Mining stocks gained as metals advanced in New York and London.

Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian exploration company, rose 4.2 percent to $1.24. Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO PE), Peru’s biggest copper producer, climbed 3.7 percent to $29. Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a Canadian gold exploration company, gained for the fourth session in five, adding 3.5 percent to $2.97. Volcan Cia. Minera SAA (VOLCABC1 PE), Peru’s largest zinc producer, rose 2.7 percent to 3.05 soles.

Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN) , the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, slumped 2 percent to $38.99 as protests at its Minas Conga project entered a fifth day.
