IMF Says No Discussions Have Been Held With Italy About Financing Program

An International Monetary Fund official said the Washington-based lender is not in talks with Italy about an IMF loan program for the debt-laden country.

“There are no discussions with the Italian authorities on a program for IMF financing,” the spokesperson said today in an e-mailed statement.
