Greece’s Labor Ministry released a revised list of professions deemed ``heavy and arduous,'' cutting the number of employees entitled to early pensions under that status by almost a third.
The new list will apply to about 365,000 workers from the 531,000 covered under the previous list, according to a statement issued today by the Athens-based ministry. The list incorporates new categories such as nursing staff and excludes previous categories including hairdressers, ticket collectors on public transport, supermarket cashiers and confectioners.
Reducing the professions included in the list is one of the conditions attached to the country receiving international loans under an EU-led bailout.
