U.S. Aaa Rating With Negative Outlook Affirmed by Moody’s

Moody’s Investors Service affirmed the Aaa credit rating of the U.S. while maintaining its negative outlook after a congressional committee failed to agree on budget cuts.

As stated Nov. 1, “the deliberations of the Joint Select Committee would be informative for the rating analysis but not decisive, and failure to reach an agreement would not by itself lead to a rating change for the U.S. government,” Moody’s said in an e-mail statement today.
